The booklet on the legislative authority and the opposition in Israeli democracy, of the ‘Thought of Menachem Begin’ pamphlet series published by the Menachem Begin Heritage Center, brings before the Israeli reader Menachem Begin’s worldview on the role of Knesset Israel – the Israeli legislative authority – and its relations with the executive branch and the judiciary. His years of public and political activity have brought Menachem Begin to a unique and in-depth recognition of the structure of Israel’s democracy, its weaknesses and strengths, and especially the role of the opposition in improving decision-making within the framework of the democratic process.
