Join us for an evening  of conversation between veteran reporters Mark Lavie and Matti Friedman as we celebrate the launch of Lavie’s new book, Why Are We Still Afraid?, a 46-year story of Israel’s growing strength with a clear and surprising conclusion, and a message for Israeli voters before the coming election.

Mark Lavie is an award-winning news correspondent, analyst and author who has lived and worked in the Middle East since 1972, reporting for leading outlets including AP, NPR, NBC, and CBC. 

Matti Freidman is an acclaimed author and journalist. His 2016 book, Pumpkinflowers, was chosen as a New York Times’ Notable Book and as one of Amazon’s 10 best books of the year.
