A BOOK ABOUT MENACHEM BEGIN
A book about Menachem Begin was published this week, Hadar – the Story of Menachem Begin by Modan Publishing House. The book was written by Galila Ron-Feder-Amit, who is a well-known author in Israel. She was born in Haifa in 1949 and has a degree in biblical studies and Hebrew literature from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. For seven years she was foster-mother to 10 children from broken homes, and she recorded her experiences in a fictional series that was broadcast on radio and adapted for the stage and TV. Ron-Feder-Amit has published six novels for adults and about 250 books for children and youth, many of which have been broadcast, filmed and serialized in children`s and teen magazines. In 2008, she received the World Zionist Organization Award for Lifetime Achievement and Social Involvement. Her most recent series was Time Tunnel in which two boys travel through time to events in the history of the State of Israel, which is a series geared to 8-12 year old readers .
This book is currently only available in Hebrew
INTERNS AT THE BEGIN CENTER

Ariel Bijio of the Otzma Program is helping the Israel Government Fellows program fine-tune some of its marketing and build a welcome packet for new participants .
Alyona Ryvkina of the Career Israel Program has taken on a special project in translating Menachem Begin's "World Outlook" into Russian .
Xiao (Agnes) Ye of Pepperdine University, but originally from China, is here for a week to learn more about the Menachem Begin Heritage Center as part of her internship experience in Israel.
